What to eat??

1) Why do people choose to eat products that are unhealthy for them? (food stuffs) 2) What roles/responsibilities does the gov't have in framing your choice? (Should they be responsible for educating us? should they be responsible for managing all products we consume? GM included, plastic chemicals - poisonous additives)

People eat unhealthy food because they live in the now, they think what doesnt kill them will make them stronger, they think whatever they eat they will work off later. Not taking into consideration that unhealthy food goes into different parts of their bodies and literally you are what you eat. Some people eat unhealthy because they are not educated enough to know what is good and what is bad. Some just don't care.

If the government say's corn is bad and gave concrete facts why everybody would believe their statement and stop eating corn. People believe the government when it comes to food. For an example a couple years ago it was said that plastic water bottles if in the sun too long can give cancer, so in result to this news we all freaked out and got tin can watter bottles. Its green, fashionable and won't give you cancer, how fancy.
Honestly it doesn't matter who teaches us about food and healthy products vs unhealthy products because anyone can lie, anyone can miseducate.
The government has more of an infulence on the population, therefore they should be responsible for teaching us.

  1. Aww Hannah your so brilliant :)
I totally agree with everything you said, specially about how those who consume unhealthy foods can easily work them off. This has become a habit, but many of us are becoming lazy and not caring or reminding ourselves how these foods are affecting our bodies. The government is who we all turn to, and should be responsible for supplying us with knowledge on what we are purchasing on a dfay to day basis.

  2. Hannah that is a really good point that if the government tells people to stop doing stuff than they will, like with the waterbottles. I never even thought about that!

Also, the thought that people may not know what is healthy for them to eat is a little bit frightening, no? But probably true...people confuse fruit snacks with fruit, soda with juice, candy bars as granola bars.

  3. Yannah that was awesome. You are completely right, and in my opinion people really don't care about what they're putting into their bodies. Because of the current times we are in, all people actually care about it how much food that they can buy (whether it's good or bad) for the cheapest price. This is obviously not a healthy method to live by and if we don't at least try to change it then everyone will just be overweight and unhappy!

  4. hey hannah :))
I think you are right, It doesnt matter who says what.. Here in Slovakia and Im sure in your country its the same. In one magazine you read how unhealthy and bad as ceratain food, actually its killing you. And then month later, you read another magazine which says this certain food is so healthy and good for you. In addition, both articles are written on scientific basics.
And then we are all confunsed what to eat and what not to.

  5. Hannah this is interesting question, because we like to go to Mc´Donalds or KFC, but exactly this food is great!! We know, Mc´Donalds is so unhealthy food. It contains a lot of callories and fats, but milk shakes are like a drug :o)=)
Some people in Slovakia are very busy and they eat only once per day. They go to fast food because they haven´t got time for some lunch. When they have pause they are runnig to eat. This food and facts influence their health very much.
But on the other side, there are people, who eat very healthy food, bio food. They care what they eat and how to eat. They are buying only BIO food, they care about their health. But who doesn´t. Every person takes care of their health but everybody in different way.
